1st Annual Neurological Summit

Hear what people had to say...

The speakers all did very well in their presentations.  Having worked in the city in a neurosurgical ICU it is nice to know that if something happens to our friends and family on LI, I have someplace to refer them to”
 -  Massapequa Park, NY

This is the first time for me attending neurological summit. I find it interesting to know that there is community information dissemination such as this.  I would definitely recommend this summit because I believe that we do not have this in the area where I live.  Thank you and more power to the group”
-  Long Island City, NY

This is only one conference that I’ve attended which involves community, not only people from medical field. Keep it up! LINI did a very good job in this summit.  Best of luck. Thank you very much for all the information you’ve shared”  - Long Island City, NY

Thanks for inviting me” - Valley Stream, NY

Discussion that was presented was mostly a picture of the tests and results of the management of the best trends.  Looking forward to a new test and management of brain CA could possible prolong quality of life” - Oceanside, NY

All the topics were very informative. The treatment is amazing.  God bless for all the surgeons that
Presented
”

The gamma knife radiation surgery at SNCH is a very big help for me.  I don’t need to travel farther to receive the treatment.  Thank you so much Dr. Michael Brisman and Dr. Stephen Burstein for introducing it”

Thank you for a wonderful program.  I look forward to others” - Valley Stream, NY

I wish this presentation was given 5 years ago.  I wasn’t diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis until 2 years after my internist starting treating me for leg weakness (which I thought was due to Lipitor)  My neurologist advised me not to consult a spine specialist unless I wanted an operation.  A nurse friend insisted that I consider a neurosurgeon” - Valley Stream, NY

I look forward to coming to the next one.  I am 42 years old and was just diagnosed with dementia which runs in the family.  I now at sometimes stutter and shake.  I’m being treated for it but find summits like this, keep you well informed.  Thank you for a great job today and thank you for breakfast!” - Ronkonkoma, NY

Very well done – not too technical – clarification made well.  Too bad not more people were present – there was a good coverage but the turnout was lower than I expected.  Maybe the 8 am slot was not good.  But I came in from Suffolk County.  Good job!" - Ronkonkoma, NY

Great organization – continue to the good work. Good luck” - Freeport, NY

Very knowledgeable and excellent” - Woodside, NY

Very educational, knowledgeable, fruitful summit program for all human beings in Long Island community” - Woodside, NY

Thank you for the current information needed for treatment plans of disease presented. Keep me informed!” - Lynbrook, NY

Thank you very much – the summit was informative and the information was easily understood. The speakers were wonderful” - Deer Park, NY

Especially liked the presentation by Jonathan Brisman – informative with a humorous touch.  My husband had a stroke and I would feel comfortable seeking advice from this doctor on how to prevent/detect future strokes.  My husband is currently a patient of Dr. Wirkowski (an excellent neurologist) at Winthrop Hospital.  I liked his comment regarding a team effort between neurologist and neurosurgeons.  I will speak with Dr. Wirkowski regarding this- a team approach and perhaps if the two of them would talk regarding the future care and treatment of my husband” - Lynbrook, NY

I learned things I didn’t know about the brain and neurological problems as well as hemorrhages
-  West Hempstead, NY
