ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY—The Leslie Munzer Neurological Institute, Inc. is presenting a comprehensive educational seminar on Brain Tumor and Stroke Awareness. This free community seminar will be held at the Jefferson’s Ferry Lifecare Retirement Community’s Community Center, located at One Jefferson Ferry Drive, South Setauket, NY 11720. A complimentary continental breakfast will be served.

The two-hour seminar will feature renowned Long Island physicians specializing in different aspects of the treatment of brain tumors and stroke, such as:
- David Anschel, M.D., a neurologist who is Director of Clinical Neurophysiology and the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center of Long Island at St. Charles Hospital, is also a guest scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory and has published over 50 scientific papers, abstracts and book chapters as well as authoring two books widely used by medical students and residents in neurology training. Dr. Anschel’s topic is "Stroke—Treatment, Recovery, Prevention."
- Paul Duic, M.D., a neuro-oncologist, who is a member of Neurological Surgery, P.C., specializes in the medical management of brain tumors and spine tumors, including central nervous system (CNS) tumors, gliomas, metastatic tumors, and CNS lymphoma. Dr. Duic’s topic is “Current Treatment of Brain Tumors.”
- Jai Grewal, M.D., a neuro-oncologist, who is a member of Neurological Surgery, P.C. Dr. Grewal specializes in the management of primary brain and spine tumors, central nervous system metastases, and neurological complications of cancer.Dr. Grewal’s topic is “New Chemotherapy Options for the Treatment of Brain Tumors.”
- Ramin Rak, M.D., a neurosurgeon, who is a member of Neurological Surgery, P.C., specializes in brain and spine surgery—brain tumors, cerebrovascular and skull base diseases, stereotactic radiosurgery, as well as complex and minimally invasive spinal procedures. He is also an expert in micro-neurosurgical techniques. Dr. Rak’s topic is “Advances in Brain Tumor Surgeries.”
- Michael O. Sauter, M.D., F.A.A.N, a general neurologist with a special interest in stroke, has been serving the community for 32 years. He is affiliated with St. Charles, Mather and Stony Brook University Hospitals and is the Director of the Stroke Program at St. Charles. Dr. Sauter’s topic is “A Stroke Overview.”
