Lunch and Learn
A series of seminars will be conducted for
patients, friends and family, by physicians,
experts in their fi elds, on the different
neurological diseases. New treatments will
be discussed as well as new diagnostic
techniques. Cutting edge technology will be
explored and explained. After each seminar
there will be a question and answer session.
Information shared at these seminars will
enable Long Islanders to make informed
decisions about their health care and
understand the options that may be available
to them in the form of treatment.
Symposia for Physicians
Symposia for Physicians, by physicians will
bring together the community of physicians
involved with diagnosis and treatment of
neurological diseases. At these Symposia,
physicians will have an opportunity to share
their knowledge with other physicians. No
longer will each disease be viewed as a stand
alone, but the common thread and possible
shared treatments will be discussed.
Annual Neurological
Summit
Our annual Neurological Summit, open to the
general public as well as physicians and those
in the health care industry, will provide updates
on current and future trends in diagnosing and
treating neurological disorders, as well as report
on information obtained at local seminars.
Those in attendance will be provided with
clinical and quality data needed to identify
appropriate operational planning to improve
both process and evidence-based care for all
patients with neurological disease.
Panel discussions and Q & A sessions will provide
the opportunity for participants to share researchbased
evidence and creative solutions for both
clinical care and quality improvement strategies. (June

Research reports
Research is critical for the development of
enhanced procedures to prevent and treat people
with complex neurological disorders. A percentage
of all monies donated to LMNI will be designated
to our research grants. Research reports will
be posted on LMNI’s website and in the LMNI
newsletter. These reports will provide an overview
of what research is being done and what impact it
can potentially have on patients.
Website
Our “ask the neurosurgeon” along with “ask
the
neurologist” columns will respond to requests for
information and provide answers to those who
cannot physically attend our seminars. (coming
soon)
